The sign tells it all (in French but you don't have to be fluent to understand it)

That is ONE OF the several reasons why I quit going to what was once one of my very favorite birding access trails.

I can certainly relate to the OP. ATVers would have you believe it's a few bad apples going on closed trails or off trail, and causing damage but from what I've seen the bad apples vastly out number the few responsible users.
