A poor battered Peugeot motorcycle having found its last resting place in this mossy canyon. My first post here.

Even without the motorcycle, this would be a very nice image - lovely mosses. The abandoned rusty machine adds bite to the sense of distance from "civilisation"

A bit about history: A strongly assume it was probably stolen by joyriders and thrown into a ditch off a forest track. It fell a dozen meters, bounced off a cliff edge and fell 8 more meters. So it's still in remarkable shape. This is an ancient iron ore open quarry and the surrounding area is covered in heavy moss all around.

Can't help but wonder... it did come down from the top?

A great image, and now a fascinating story to go with it - good job, Obelix!

An old iron ore quarry is, in a way, a proper final rusting place.

I once found a bowling ball in the woods in the middle of nowhere. Life is strange.

Even stranger than you might think. :-)
In remote areas of France I found tons of old cars, ranging from the 50s/6's all the way back to Ford T's. Very unusual for crowded Europe. A lot of them probably worth real money for enthusiasts.

Ran out of gas, and the driver just walked away?
Interesting forest BTW
