This is a beautiful capture having both birds in the image. The female gets center stage, and the male plays the supporting role in the background.

Can you use that lens without a tripod, or is it heavy

Thanks, yes it can be used handheld with good technique... it's heavy but managable... I am trying it more and more with bare hand or just a monopod (preferred)
it's not like the FA*250-600 f5.6 I also have, which is almost impossible to use without a tripod
