I invested in commissioning a purpose-designed garden in my back yard last year, along with a couple of bird baths. Plants were chosen for low maintenance (I am no gardener!!!) and to attract birds (and insects) to photograph. In the last 2-4 months especially, my investment has started to pay off.

Earlier today, I spotted a new visitor I had not seen in my garden before, but one which I had hoped I might see (if I were lucky!) on a bush walk. But there it was - feeding in my Moonlight Grevillea bush!!! Very dark overcast day - so I lightened the pic up just a little.

Nice shot. I am familiar with both the Pale-headed Rosella and the Grevillea Moonlight. The Moonlight is a great shrub for nectar bearing flowers. Lorikeets and Noisy Miners (among others) love them, but I see this bloke was after the seeds. Maybe we will see more of your garden visitors now that it is kicking into gear.
