Keeping a safe distance is easier with that lens . I couldn't hand hold it .

I haven't even tried to hand-hold it, pichaser! Even a monopod seems a challenge, free-standing. With a tree, or post, to lean against, or a rock to sit on, I think I can make the monopod work - with practice!!!
