No cropping - hand held. At 157mm with Asahi Pentax extension tubes - that's how small it is.

That is remarkably lifelike! So much so that I immediately concluded it was fake! (I then realized my mistake.)

Three good shots of the little devil, and all good enough to publish! It shows that you can still get the shot with a crop-sensor camera.

I would call these shots very good, even if a tripod had been used. To get these kind of images hand-held, without a flash, with extension tubes, is amazing. I have yet to dig out my late 1970s extension tube set and pair them with my 100mm Macro, or my 55-300mm PLM. Mainly because I will have to focus manually, and my eyes are not as discriminating as they once were. But I frequently think about using them, so I am sure I will get to them one day.

But for now - great images, Michael!!
