A proud but hidden singer
Lens: K200/4 Camera: K-5

While I wouldn't say the focus is spot on, it is a lot better or sharper than I can usually achieve with the A70-210 or similar adaptall zoom lens. I've only had the K200/4 for a short time, but much like the K135/3.5, it is a joy to use. I'm hooked on these lenses even if you do have to give up much of the in camera control you get with an A lens.

The second image is somewhere between a 1:1 and 1:2 crop.

Anyone know this species of bird?

Thank you all. I was quite surprised by how well these turned out. I stared out trying the lens with a cheap 3X teleconverter. It does very poorly with direct sun, causing a lot of purple fringing. The only advantage was that after the challenge of trying to frame birds at 600mm, working at only 200 mm was a breeze. These were the best of the bunch. It was a trade off with finding how close I could get before scaring it off. These were taken in a play area less than a block from where I live. While I see a lot of robins, finches, cardinals and a couple of others in and around my back yard, I don't recall seeing this species before. I'm guessing they prefer higher perches or greater distance from humans.
