This is only my second sighting of this bird around the local neighbourhood in many years - the last one around Sept 2020. This one was, like my last shot, still some distance away (so heavy crop) . The Sept 2020 shot was with the 55-300mm PLM. This time, my new Monster (150-450mm).

Cool - his (her) head seems outsized compared with her (his) diminutive body.

I have seen and gotten shots of the Kingfisher bird type mostly near a local lake shore and river. They have so many nice features.

A little surprised at how many "Likes" and positive comments this shot attracted - but perhaps I shouldn't be: they are a very attractive and iconic bird. Just wish I had ventured a little closer. But the 150-450mm performed well, allowing a very heavy crop.

Thanks everyone.

That's because they are freaks and too fast for most.

These Guys are my Nemeses, I've only ever been able to get a little Blurr offf to the side of the frame when chasing them.

I often gets looks from friends like I'm showing someone a picture of Bigfoot when I am pointing to the Blurr and zooming way in..... "It;s there!!! Can't you see it??" No one ever sees it...
