Rob,
Thats a great capture. Love the eye. Very good detail too for iso 1600. Can I ask what software you use for Post proc?

Thanks! I used DXO Photolab to process the raw, then tweaked the TIFF file with Paintshop Pro. The AI noise reduction in Photolab is very good at reducing noise without losing too much detail.

Beautiful shot, Rob. I don't think I'd want to have a staring contest with this character!

Thanks! I was very close; he landed on the roof of the hide as I was leaving. I went for a walk with the DA*300 which reminded me why it frustrated me; slow to focus and my copy isn't as sharp as my DFA 150-450 which has 50% more reach. It's a lot lighter though!

Neither would I. I like Currawongs. Their song is beautiful.

Thanks Tony! I do like the optics of the DA*300. Just not the AF.
