Sonoran Mud Turtle

Looks nice and warm! A bit of peek-a-boo. Are these turtles generally shy?

They are present at the Water Ranch (riparian area) in Gilbert, Arizona. They are pretty shy. I haven’t seen any all winter until last weekend. I am not familiar with their winter habits. I have shots of as many as four hanging out on a single branch sunning themselves from past years.
