Sunrise on the River (Avon)
Lens: Pentax 60-250mm F4 Camera: Pentax K1 Photo Location: Worcestershire, UK ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/800s Aperture: F5.6

A recent image taken whilst doing a YouTube video this weekend just gone down at my local river. The intention was to do a sunrise, alas I overslept and was chasing time in order to get the images I wanted, alas that didn't happen so I made use of the light I was gifted with and ended up producing a series of silhouettes, sandwiched in between the images I really wanted.

Image Info
Pentax - K1 - SMC Pentax-DA* 60-250mm F4 ED [IF] SDM
Exif: 1/800, f8.0, ISO 100 @ 86mm

Ha, before the pandemic i was well skilled and versed in the art of not sleeping. Often climbing a mountain at 2am in the morning to capture sunrise on a few hours later from the top. Now! the bed has a lot to answer for!

Nice sunrise colors, sky and river. Good photo composition. Enjoyed the video also. Reminds of some of my photo ventures with my son.

Thank you Sergy. Thats very kind of you to say. The temp wasn't too bad, but always thankful when the warmth of the sun is felt. Thanks for watching.

Thank you Mike, I had planned on getting some Arial footage running down the length of the river, unfortunately I dropped my RC and its been in repairs since - I'm pleased to read it brought back some memories for you. Mission accomplished!

The background is blurry probably because it's out of focus, but I like to imagine it is early fog doing that effect. I like this picture, especially the colors!

That photo opened my eyes today. I like the concept and execution. Sometimes I forget that not every landscape has to be clinically sharp.

Thanks Bertand,
In part yes the river mist was diffusing the detail somewhat in of the background, however this was also an artistic choice with applying DoF and distance to subject / distance to background considerations. to enhance the effect.

Thank you. Indeed, not every landscape image needs to be clinically sharp front to back. In fact I find that those images more often than not lack soul and that little something that stirs emotion within the viewer, at least for me anyways.
My argument on this is my eye doesn't see the periphery of vision tack sharp, only what i'm focussing on, and this is something I like to try an convey in a good proportion of images I take and make. So I'm pleased to read this little video/example has gone some way to bringing that thought back to you too.

Regards
Geoff

There is something so peaceful, well done early bird. Love the foreground interest.
