A closer look to almost anything may be a good idea. At least in this case. But I never thought DFA 150-450 to be handy for close-ups. It seems I was wrong.

Nice shot, Rob. I often take a closer look just to wonder about all the once-was-life that is represents.

I've also used it for close-ups of flowers which were in locations I couldn't reach with the DFA 100 macro. The bokeh from the big lens is actually pretty nice for this! I did have the macro with me, but I decided to use the lens that was on the camera rather than expose the body to the salt air.

Me too! It's only a couple of hours' drive to the coast from Canberra, but I don't go often enough. This location was further away - a 540 km round trip. It's a lot further for you to get to a beach though! Are there any beaches on the east coast of Canada? The furthest east I've been was Quebec city. Lake shores aren't quite the same.

If one were picky, one might be tempted to criticise this image for not having a specific subject of Focus.

But to hell with formal rules! The variety of sizes, shapes and colours, all in one location is enough to maintain interest, wonder, and delight.

Very pleasant, fascinating viewing!

Thanks! The piece of oyster shell in the middle attracted my attention, but then I was fascinated by the shapes, colours and variety of all the other fragments around it.

I find the mixture of everything as the specific subject.
And the rules? You must break and go beyond them to know if they're really necessary at all.

Thank you! Sometimes it's fun to try different things.
