Very Nice! Did you need any noise reduction with this?

Thanks! Blue sky tends to be noisy even at low ISO. I used AI noise reduction in DXO Photolab. The noise in the image was pretty low, but making the sky a smooth blue helped isolate the moon.

And somehow you managed to keep the contrast and clarity of the moon itself so brilliant! Very good work!

Very nice moon image Rob! It looks so much better when the sky has some color rather than a black night sky.

Thanks - although I think the most important factor was the clear air in Canberra.

That's true, isn't it? I guess our brains are wired for colour and that makes it more familiar somehow.

You're welcome! I've been using DXO a lot more recently to smooth the bokeh (but also because I recently stopped using in-camera jpegs).
