Ghost gambit (bulb shot)
Posted By: Duh_Vinci, 03-09-2007, 07:45 PM

So far, I've tried every setting on K10D dial, except for the bulb mode. My remote control came in today, so after reading the manual and some online info, decided to give it a try...

Ghost gambit:

FA 28-105 at 60mm, 32sec, f7.1 iso 100 (noise added intentionally in PS)

C&C always welcome!

Regards,
D

I really think that this is cool!
did you do this with the multi exposure mode?
it turned out great for you if you did...
the few times I tried it the people became a lot more "ghost" like then yours

thanks for sharing this

Thanks for the comments!

Who's winning? LOL- the "spirit of the game" is

Randy - this on is a single exposure. Dark room (just a night light in the back)... About 12 seconds for the "ghost" on the left, covered the lens, "ghost" moved to the right, exposure continued for another 12-13 seconds or so. Darkened, desaturated and noise added.

D

This shot is so cleverly done.

My guess is doing a long exposure with the guy playing chess. During the long exposure, the guy changed side to the other side with a dark board covering the lens

Right?

Thanks guys, glad you like it!

Donald - the night light, nope, far from anything spectacular! Actual "night light" for the night stand with 25W bulb... Just needed some kind of light to see what I'm doing

Roentarre - yep, exactly that! I tried a test exposure first, just to see what results would I get in terms of the light (was a little too dark) so did it again, this time bumped up to 32-33 seconds overall.

Regards,
D

Now that is some shot! I'm guessing the same technique can be used on a K100D?
