I see you are using a K-50 camera body. I have the same. That's a really nice image! I have never seen a Coopers Hawk before...

Excellent capture with great focus. I've also never recall seeing one in the wild.

Very nice image.
Too bad the hawk dropped the chicken and wasn't holding a chicken thigh in his claws though

Thanks, more annoyed as me need more eggs right now, not less!

The K-50 is still an excellent camera - I got mine nearly 7 years back now... starting to think of upgrading however...

The Pentax A 400/5.6 - it's fairly sharp, and really lightweight (all my shooting is handheld). If someone is looking for an affordable 400mm, and doesn't mind manual focus, I'd certainly recommend this!

Thanks! It never moved the chicken, as the chicken is slightly bigger than it.

Nice sharp images especially for manual focus. (at least I always find that challenging)

Top notch raptor portrait - beautiful shot!

EDIT: Even more impressive when viewed and magnified in Flickr - beautiful feather detail.

Thanks - I find manual focus is just fine for most things once you get used to it - and missed frames aren't a big deal with digital
