Very nice images. I just saw and photographed some of these a few weeks ago here in Texas Hill Country. Being new to this area, I had never seen them before.

Very interesting. We have a "Plumed Whistle Duck" here in Australia which has completely different colours but a similar fairly long neck and the raised wig feathers. But a lot of waterfowl families are widely distributed around the Pacific Rim.
