Jurassic Garden

In the promos for this exhibit at the botanic garden, they touted "life size" dinosaurs, and I'm quite sure I read something about a T-rex. Alas, no life-size Tyrannosaur, just a much smaller relative, an Allosaur. And the ones they did have were small guys to start with, but it was still fun. Even if some of the staging was not photo-friendly, we still got some shots...

Nice series. All your subjects seemed to cooperate very nicely. Thanks for sharing with us!

Thanks. Yes, they cooperated quite well, no problem at all! Actually, the problem was the way the garden (or whomever) staged them. Several were quite difficult to photograph, with too much faux "fencing" (just ropes on bamboo stakes) in the way, or no room to frame a shot because of trees, etc.

Thank you. Those are the best of several images of each dinosaur, I'll see if there are any more worth posting. Might be one or two...I'll share 'em if I find some.

<haha> No, they didn't move at all, so we were stuck with whatever pose they had at the time. Thanks, much appreciated!

OK, three more, including one I missed posting in the first round. The young allosaurs (there were three, actually) were grouped with the big one but not in any grouping allowing a good shot of all of them together. The Daspletosaurus was especially difficult to shoot, even with a wide-angle lens, if you backed up too far you'd fall into the lake, or butt up against a tree. Good thing there was that fence between it and visitors...
