Quite a mess in this little guy's coat - I should have brought them a comb!

Great pic, Robert! Reminds me of our cat after he rolls around in the backyard.

Thanks Jer - the bear was in fact rolling around, but too far away to take a shot when I saw that. By the time I was in range, he had made other plans to go for a stroll

I really like what you did to the colours in processing this image, keeping the bear brown and monochrome for everything else.

Thank you - glad you like it as I was experimenting with something different for a change.

The bear was actually pretty much completely black, but it looked a little dull in monochrome, so I tried some split toning with a dab of brown which made it stand out a bit better and give more texture to the bear.

What you did worked Great Robert. Really nice image and contrast.

Robert, that is a very, very god image off a black bear, I am surprised that he did not stop to feed on the Dandelions, unless he had his belly full already. I do like what you did in PP.

Thank you Heinrich. The bear was stopping and munching dandelions as he meandered along. That's what attracts them all to the fields there, easy access food - one year I saw 8 in one outing within the quartersection of hayfields.

Or perhaps he's not a fan of the pipes...
