Solar eclipse of June 10th from Montreal
Lens: A400/5.6 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Montreal ISO: 80 Shutter Speed: 1/3200s Aperture: F16
Posted By: SunValley, 06-12-2021, 06:32 AM

Went to the highest point in Montreal to get a clear horizon for the rising sun with the moon already eclipsing some of it.

All done with very old Pentax material that can still deliver! No solar filter.

Thanks! Not really sure when the next time will be for that but after a quick check on time and date there's nothing like that for the next ten years at least.

Perfect timing with the sickel shape nearly touching the ground. Well done.

Very, very well done. You could propose it to the government for an update to the "Carte Soleil"

Thanks! I had to put the alarm at 3 so I could be there at 4 before the crowd stormed in!

Good job! In the UK we had to make do with full daylight of the late morning, but to see and capture that at sunrise has to be special.

Very cool. I've only seen one (lunar) partial eclipse near the horizon, not yet a solar one. Really nice to have that bonus drama in the scene!
