Round Leafed Sundew

Our local peat bog supports 3 carnivorous plants. One of the prettiest, and unusual looking is the Round Leafed Sundew. When an insect touches one of those extremely sticky, glistening drops, it becomes trapped. Eventually the entire leaf wraps around it and it gets digested.

Great subject and image. Carnivorous plants have always fascinated me. We have round leaf, intermedia and thread leaf (very very rare here) Do you guys get thread leaf sundews in your area?

I've never seen it and my plant guide shows it east of Pennsylvania; Delaware/New Jersey/ Connecticut, but I keep looking for it anyway. Those durned plants don't seem to read those guides much.......

Thanks for posting this. Such interesting plants. We have sundews and venus flytraps here in North Carolina in a very limited area.
