Excellent work, they are all great, only the road shot seems less inspired. The runing horse (?) is very beautiful, even if blurred, was that intentionnal?

It will be interesting to see what's up there on the temple (2nd shot), the architectural, people and culture ....a rare insight of Tibet.

A great capture on part 1.

Thanks all
A little background:
1
Mount Everest sunset at base camp. We arrived about half an hour before sunset, to find that the peak was shrouded by clouds, which was typical of the time of year (august). There were no climbers because they typically climb early spring/late fall. Within a few minutes, the clouds move away to reveal a beautiful golden peak lit by the falling sun. The people who hosted the tents we were sleeping in said we were very lucky because it's only a few times during non-climbing season that you can see the peak so well.

2
Taken in Lhasa, capital of Tibet, infront of the Potala Palace. The palace was built in the 1600's by the 5th Dalai Lama. Every morning pilgrims circle the Potala in a clockwise motion.

3
The road to Namtso lake, one of the holy lakes of Tibet. It is forbidden to enter the water or fish there. There is a small island on the lake where Lamas live. In the winter, they walk to shore across the frozen waters to get supplies, and are trapped on the island when the ice melts.

4
We were driving from a lake, and there was a festival of some sort held on a grass plain, which saw attendance by many locals from surrounding villages. There was a horse race and an archery event.

5
Not much to say. A monastary (there are lots of them!) in Tibet. In these monastaries, it's forbidden to kill anything. One of the downsides is there are many flies in the washrooms, and all the dogs have fleas, so you can't pet them.
