Noble Firs Across Four Ridges · **1 Like**

True firs, like Noble Fir, set their cones in early summer in the high elevations. You'll never see their cones on the ground since they defoliate to release the seeds. In the fall, these fat little cones become a simple skinny spike.
Seems like I'll never grow out of the childish play of shooting these fascinating little "hoot owls". Maybe that's because the trees are so remote and the cones are so remote at the tops of these very straight-trunked, very tall trees.
Critiques of the image are appreciated.

Beautiful layered textured wonderful greens. The background could be helped with a bit of LCA. Those cones are glistening in the light ! wonderful story and landscape. TFS

Thanks for the comments! Really like to hear what another person sees in an image--often so different from what I saw/didn't see.
