Modern city still uses bamboo scaffolding, even for massive skyscrapers.

I`ve worked on a lot of scaffolding over the years. This makes me shudder! Great shot.

I’d nope right outta there if I had to climb that! It’s interesting to see bamboo is strong enough to still be used in modern construction. I did not know this.

Held together with tie wraps from the looks of it. No thanks.

This is a very cool shot. It is obviously strong enough, but it looks really difficult for workers to move themselves, materials and equipment on.

I think HK is the only city that still do that for high rise construction.

Bamboo scaffolding is still used in Hong Kong for heights up to 1000 feet . This method is regulated by code to insure safety and reliability even in storms . . These scaffolds are placed by skilled workers who are apprenticed and are very fast .

But I have not set foot on this particular type of support either .

Yeah it's pretty wild to see in person

To be fair, they're pretty sturdy ties, and they use A LOT of them. Like a sea of plastic ties after they take them down.

From the looks of it they manage ok but that could be years of experience to get to that point.

A building I lived in had exterior renovations done and we had a whole side of my apartment blocked off with this. It's pretty gnarly looking down (through a window) when its being built, can't imagine doing the work.

Bamboo is a very strong material, but this photo is lacking decking. I am going to say, "not safe for work" in the modern world.

Hong Kong's plenty modern... most of the time!
