Originally posted by K2 to K50 Hey Tony - some waterflowers now, eh?
Very nice colours and composition here - but I can't quite tell where the focus is - but then, my 77 yr old eyes (even with the specs on!!!) let me down on sharpness assessment at times. That is one stop-down you have used on the aperture, obviously for maximum depth of field?
Greetings there, youngfella. The focal point is between the two flowers to the right. In regards to the graininess, I wanted to re-create the naturalness of the subjects as much
as possible with the higher ISO and then used the f/22 setting to reduce the affect of haze on a day with harsh sunlight. After all, how do I set up a scrim in a pond or lake?
The only miscue I notice now (more than when I uploaded) are the two areas that appear to be oversaturated, but then again, they are in direct sunlight so that may be
forgivable. The Nikon D200 at the time of its release was hailed as state of the art technology in regards to handling difficult colors, i,e., reds, yellows and whites, however it
was a huge improvement over its predecessors, but nothing is perfect. Thanks very much for your positive comments and feedback. Cheers Mate.

Some might say the grain in the photo is too film-like, but I enjoy it!
Thanks for sharing!
I did do some Noise Reduction, but as stated earlier I really wanted to retain the natural beauty of this awesome wonder. Thanks very much for your compliments.
Cheers,
Tony

While that is quite possible, I still view it as a very astute observation. Thanks again,

Originally posted by DW58 I like this one a lot Tony. Contrast, composition and colors look great. And I agree with archaeodude. I think the grainy texture raises the feel of this image up a notch or two. Definitely thumbs up for this one.
Greatly appreciated young man, greatly appreciated.

Well, whaddyaknow? Great minds do think alike.
) I have to agree with your perspective. See if you agree with my initial thoughts. At first glance, I felt it was a scene
of champagne glasses filled with pear slices and the lily pads were fancy place settings. After all that, I took the shot anyway.

Thanks very much for your comments.
