There's this one board on the back of an old building on my property that I only see when I mow the grass or hunt for birds. It's a beautiful color for some reason. It's a pine board, old heart of pine. Maybe that has something to do with its color.

I get you. It's one of those times we just see something so simple, yet really pleasing. Very nice color. For wood, it's possibly a matter of ageing, affected by the micro-climate of the area.

I'm impressed by the overlay of the green leaves on top of the lighter yellow-green wood. I like it!
The green color probably comes from a kind of microscopic lichen or algae--at least in the dampish climate I know.
