A Rare Sighting.
Posted By: Mallee Boy, 11-29-2008, 12:44 AM

Now folks, you are going to be priveleged viewers of something not seen too often.

This rare species is known to exist, but to capture one photographically is very rare.

Known as a Kangaiwi, this extremely rare species is created when an Australian emigrates to New Zealand, and believe me that is rare!!.....1 in 11 New Zealanders now call Australia home.

Anyway, here is a female Kangaiwi (aka Kylie). As you can see we were getting the hopping bit and the flightless bird restrictions a little mixed up.

I'm aware of Kangaiwis but not realize they can stand on one foot

She is away from home for too long - sleep deprivation does things to people

You have a good time in NZ for sure.

What a well trained Kangaiwis...performing for her dinner.
Looking at the scenery behind her I'm not surprised she moved to NZ...beautiful.
