Twilight On Little Pines in An Old Burn · **2 Likes**

Makes me very happy to see all the little pines starting back up. Not very visible in this compressed image, but the original has little reprod pines scattered all through the manzanita.
And the lone sentinel pine on the ridge--that somehow escaped the fire a few years ago--seems to keep baby-sitter watch over them.
Hoping the best for them...

I only wish the cycle of nature in this case had not been such an intensely ferocious burn that it almost sterilized the whole mountain.
But it is gradually recovering.
