Old Wood & Hard Granite In Low Light
Lens: D FA 28-105mm Camera: K-1 ii Photo Location: Foresthill Divide, Sierras ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/180s Aperture: F13.5

This scene stopped me as I was heading back to the car in fatigue. Long day at high elevation; I had tremors, but got the shot fairly clearly at 1/180s. Low, warm light threw some long dark shadows, but it really brought out the colors in the rocks. And the white snags stood out brilliantly against the dark sky. Just had to take the shot.
My wife is bored stiff with the image, but I had to post it anyway.
Angky.

Nice shot. The variety of color and scenery give the image nice culture.

The evening light did bring out great colors in the rocks and give a nice tone to whole picture. To me, it looks the way it should at that time of day, very natural. Good work.

You can tell your wife that for those of us who haven't been there, we get to travel vicariously. Thanks for putting in the effort to grab this shot.

Thank you! That warmth appealed to me also when I saw it; I'm just very glad for that Pentax equipment that records colors so accurately.

"Sometimes the lighting is perfect."
How true that is! And being there at the right time is not always possible.
Thanks for the observation on lines and contrast.

Now *that* is a very good statement!

I do appreciate the vicarious traveling I've been getting from all of you folks on this site.
