Not the most beautiful bug, but certainly a beautiful capture. That lens really performs. Well done!

It's a beauty, and you nailed the focus. I like the soft lighting, too.

I'm just curious, how often do you find microplastics on the bugs you shoot like this? I'd be hard pressed to find a grasshopper so clean!

It is a very nice specimen and photo. In the upper Midwest they have been way too plentiful this year.

You are really getting into the macros/closeups these days, Todd!

This is another good one - it is amazing that the 55-300mm PLM can take such shots. But it does, and does it very well, as you have shown here.

Not only the perfect specimen, but also the perfect shot of that specimen.
Impressed by that lens!

Light must have been very good to produce the great colour and detail in this shot

Thank you! Yes, but I would rather leave them for the birds...

To be honest, I have not photographed many grasshoppers. I certainly couldn't tell from looking at it how perfect its condition was until I processed it.

Thanks K2 to K50! I agree I have gotten pretty deep into insect photography lately. Maybe it is because Texas has so many of them.

Thanks Angky! I have to say that the 55-300 PLM is a lens that delivers way above its price point.

Thanks EM! There was enough cloud cover to soften up the lighting, and the concrete diffused it very well. I was amazed at the colors of the bug when I processed the photo.
