Galtymore Mountain in Ireland
Lens: DA 18-55mm Camera: KP Photo Location: Ireland

We were heading back down from the top of Galtymore, Ireland's third highest mountain, when I shot this, looking over the boggy part of the mountain down into a valley.

Beautiful scenery! I have dreamed of exploring Ireland but have not yet done it. Definitely a terrific view from up there.

So scenic. Beautiful rolling green hills under a nice cloudy sky, but with enough light to show the terrain. Nice composition.

The foreground in such clear detail really sets up the whole image for you.
Clouds on top, and course grasses right near you on the ground. And the leading line of that ravine takes us right into it.
Puts the whole image into context--and it appears to go on foreeeeverrrr!
Great!
Angky.

I'd like to go up early in the morning on a fine day and spend some time with a couple of better lenses. I can't complain, though. It was a fine day for it.

I ended up taking over a hundred shots, and most were quick ones - stop, click, go...keeping up with everyone. Thanks for the comments.

Nice moody shot. An Irish folk group, The Grehan Sisters, had an LP (remember those ?) called 'On The Galtymore Mountains' - never found a copy, but I am slowly building up a version from YouTube videos.
