1966 Ford Fairlane 500

I took the shot for my avitar in 1982, and sold the car in 1984,

I happened upon the car again in 2012

I don't see those too often. One was around yesterday I heard about but missed it. Not sure of the year though.

I would say 67, over 66, rectangular front grill badge and mirrors, over round on mine.

Sheet metal was the same for both years but trim and tail lights were different

Is that 289 badging ?

In '69 I was seriously looking at a '68 Mustang fastback, that had been Bulletized...in outer appearance. It had an automatic and the 289 4 barrel, if memory serves it was a 225 hp. V8, Eventually bought a '67 Camaro RS coupe, 327 V8, Muncie 4 speed.

But I di like the Mustang fastback .

It’s 289 badging but when I bought the car, it had a blown engine. I bought it really only for the body, because I had a 64 falcon convertible , that I had “shoveled” a 300hp 351 into but the car wasn’t solid enough for the power and the unit body construction, aided by a lot of rust, started to come apart.

So for all the time I had it, it ran with a 351.

An outstanding series of car images with beautiful color rendering! I don't know my old cars like you guys, but I know great photos when I see them.
