That eye is something to behold, but the detail and colors of the bird can't be missed.

Thanks! The lens is a lot to lug around, but the results are worth it! Virtually all the photos I take are hand held.

Thanks Todd! I'm a little disappointed that a 590km drive only got me a photo of a bird I could see locally, but I did get to see a species of Dolphin that I haven't seen in Australia before (though I saw it in Hawaii)!
Well, actually I saw quite a few birds which I don't see at home, but didn't get photos worth posting this time.

They’re a cute bird with a bit of attitude. Common resident down my way …have heaps of them in my backyard when my ironbark gum flowers in autumn.

They are fun to watch. I'd like to get a decent photo of a White-cheeked Honeyeater but I haven't seen one in ages.
