A Few Red Spotted Purple Butterflies
Lens: Sigma 170-500 DG Camera: Pentax KP Photo Location: Yard ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/320s Aperture: F10

Photographed these in the back yard. Thought they were swallowtail butterflies, but they were not. Look like Red Spotted Purple Buterflies.

We have a rather rough steep back yard backyard with several trees. The last half is wooded to the street below. Thanks for your comments.

Nice shots of a beautiful butterfly Mike. Have not seen one like it around here. As an aside I lived near the little town of Blue Eye MO on the Arkansas border from '91-'94.

Nice shots of my favorite butterfly. Here in the forested mountains of Central Pennsylvania they're quite common.
