Photomerge image
Posted By: JMR, 11-30-2008, 09:15 PM

For some time I have wanted to try photo merging, not so much to create panoramas, but to create new and interesting images. I know this image is dirty and full of specs because it was scanned from a slide. Just managed to remedy my scanner software problem with Vuescan software. Works great and I will be posting many older slide images.

Cool JMR. I love mirror function, which I assume is similar to merge? I like doing it on animals and people. Funny.
Looks good.

Thanks. I am not familiar with the 'mirror' function, but I will look it up. I saw this technique in Canadian magazine once when a group of German worker- photo enthusiasts used it in the slide film days and always wanted to try it. We always take it for granted that these type of images are easy because we have PP programs, but in the film days it was all work and lots of creativity.

Thanks. after seeing the slide, it immediately occurred to me the image would look well merged to look like a panorama.

Photoshop elements has about three to four merge features. I found the "interactive layout" to be the most suitable. Please note I also cropped the oriignal image before I started so that it would have a better overall look and fit. Thanks for the comments.
