I lost my van ....
Posted By: J.Scott, 12-01-2008, 05:53 PM

... I swear I parked it here last night!

Ah well, such is life in Canada.
We got about a foot of snow dumped on us since last night.
Although not actually my van (a co-workers) it is representative of our fleet this morning.

Love it or hate it - winter is here!

Hey are you trying to scare from shooting snowscapes? Snow is like rain, when you need and want it, it is wonderful. But when you've had enough and you are in the daily grind of work...is there a shovel big enough?

Shot like this makes photography a special hobby. Documenting things that I would probably never see again

Be careful what you wish for! That much snow slows our small city (170,000) to a crawl. It was declared a 'snow day' by local school boards early in the morning (no school buses run - schools close). The first streets to see a snow plow are those on municipal bus routes. Side streets and lane ways were not plowed until late afternoon. All of this snow has to go somewhere as this is winter and it's not likely to melt in a significant way until late March of next year. It costs big bucks to push aside or remove snow from a city.

I must admit it would be a sight indeed to see 20cm of snow fall on a city like London England.

I'm dug out! I have a fleet of shovels, scoops and a 10hp snow blower that my late father in law gave to me before he died. God rest his soul! We take our snow removal very seriously.

Nice !! We have ony had the threat of snow so far - still brown around here - pretty rare - one of the warmest November's on record. But I suspect it's only a matter of time. I do hope for snow for Christmas as that is the only time I get to go Ski-doing Good workouts on the driveway and walkways !

Sorry for a "1/2 O/T hijack", but a question for you since you live in Savannah. I worked at Ft. Stewart there many, many years ago and there used to be a really nice place to eat in Savannah and I can't remember the name. It was "Miss Something or other", and the food was served family style to a lot of people eating at long tables. Does this ring a bell by any chance? Think it was near a cemetery near the center of town. Again, I apologize for the hijack.
