What's the name of this yoga pose?
Lens: Pentax-F 100mm f/2.8 Macro Camera: KP Photo Location: front yard

I had to manipulate these images quite a bit because I accidentally had exposure comp set to +0.7. (I had been shooting a black bug against a light background.) This 'thing' was about half the size of a 'normal' dragonfly. At rest it kept its wings in a double V configuration. There were a few on my blueberry bush. Anybody have any idea what species it is?

Looks good

The pose is called the buttinair pose.

It can be seen here too.

Mexican Amberwing. The orange spots on the wings are called pterostigma and the color is the identifying marker. Both dragonflies are males. Females have more dark wing markings. It’s amazing what you can find on google. By the way, both images are great shots.

Terrific shots. I think LightSpeed nailed the pose. Great details and colors.

Thanks y'all for your kind comments. And special thanks to Kiddo70 for the bug ID. After processing these, I went back out to the bush with exposure comp at 0, but of course there were none to be seen.

High key on that bug worked well for its wings.
Angky.

The 'key' was even higher due to accidental +0.7 exposure comp before I turned it down in post. I spent quite a bit of time on the white blobs in the background to tame them without them looking un-natural. Not sure how well I did, but they look better than they did before.

I don't see the appeal, but I'm not a Mexican Amberwing.

Did it try to lift something too heavy?

These are a couple of very good dragonfly captures! It is really good that it had its wings pointed up to capture them nicely in focus. Whenever I get a shot from the side, their wings are always down and impossible to get much of them in focus.
