On the Catalina Highway when climbing Mount Lemmon, you happen on this "Duckbill Rock".

Nice capture of an unusual rock. The yellow tones in the rock certainly explain the name of the mountain. Looks great against the blue sky backstop.

Hey! I remember this place! Mt. Lemmon was the only high place I could get to around the Tucson desert.
Good memory you showed me!
A good composition of that rock.

Tucson gets "crazy-hot" during the summer. This July day, it was 115 deg F down in the Valley. When you climb Mt Lemmon (named maybe after somebody related to actor Jack Lemmon), you reach "Rose Pond Campground" about mid-way up, where the temperature drops to a mere 85 deg F. So I seek refuge from the heat.

Regards

Sure does. I remember being in a tee-shirt and shorts in Tucson in April (at Easter, actually) and Mt Lemmon got a good dusting of snow. We went up with the kids and they had fun with snow balls. The contrast in temperatures has to be experienced to be believed.

I recall the big pines. Saguaro cactus in Tucson, and big Ponderosa Pines on top of the mountain! Huge difference!
Good image you shared with us.
