Just before reaching the parking spaces on one of the South Rim's observation points, you get this splendid view of the sandstone towers bordering the rim. After leaving my car, I had to walk uphill a fair distance to get to this exact location that you see while driving down to the parking lot but where nobody takes the trouble to get to photograph this unique observation spot.

In the Grand Canyon, one must never forget these are treacherous cliffs. The quantity of unaware people falling to their death each year is staggering. Always check before choosing a place from which to photograph.
