A Fig Tree In Barely Stubble
Lens: D FA 28-105mm Camera: K-1 ii Photo Location: Sacramento Valley ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/180s Aperture: F16

Although this is accurate to what is there, I wanted to show something evocative.

The tree was there, but it seemed not the focus of the whole image.
The tree's context pointed to--
The straight, nearly vertical, drill rows, so austere and certain, and yet--
it also pointed to the flowing laterals of the hill and its undulations that seemed to defy the drill rows' attempt to command the scene.
Then, there was the intensely hot sun in a bleakly blank sky, burning color into the stubble.

The above is what I saw / felt when I contemplated the scene prior to raising the camera.
Comments on what the scene actually communicates to others, if anything at all, would be helpful.
And any PP that should have, or have not, been done.
(Just trying to learn how to do this... )

But at least enjoy the hot summer's image for whatever you see in it!
Angky.

Uhhhhh.... Should be a barley field!
Thanks to SpecialK!

It's barely in the barley.

Thanks for that correction!
I was wondering what looked wrong with that word!

I actually like the pattern left on the field by harvesting and the color. The fact that barley is used in brewing beer is also a plus.

That pattern really struck me. So straight and correct. And then the hill's curves accentuate it--or defy it. Not sure which.
I've found wheat beer to be a very good flavor too.
