Fence Lizard catching some rays

Found this fence lizard taking in some sunshine this morning after a cool overnight. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Thanks. When it gets really hot here, they disappear. Since we are starting fall, on cool mornings, they show up again until it gets too cold.

That could have been taken in my backyard. Lizards can be hard to catch, nice job

Thanks. This guy wasn't going anywhere yesterday. I think it needed some heat. Most need to sun to digest food. Pet lizards need a heat rock.

Nice shots Mike! I have a pair of green lizards hanging around in my front yard, and I have been pestering them all summer getting shots of them. The good news is that I haven't annoyed them enough to leave.

Thanks for commenting. Glad that they have stayed. We usually have fence lizards, coal skinks and broad head skinks. They haven't been as plentiful this year.

Thank you. Lizards, like other reptiles require the sunshine to raise their body temperature and to digest food.
