Misc Cuban Refugee Raft

Cuban Refugee Raft · **3 Likes**

A home made boat found in Florida aprox. 2 miles from JB,s Fish Camp in 1994. It was used by people to escape Cuba, aprox. 500 miles away. The fish camp is 386 miles from Key west Florida.

The idea of going to sea in this raft really tells a story in desperation. Very interesting

That's not a craft that I would want to venture out in the Gulf. People must really feel that that they have nothing to lose to attempt the trip. Thanks for sharing these photos and background information.

Someone piloted that across the gulf. With an unknown but large number of passengers I’d guess. I wonder what their fate is now?
