I tested my old 645 A 45 mm f/2.8 wide-angle on the 645Z. High sharpness and contrast, no flare, no veiling. This angle of view is very useful in landscape photography.

Looks like a very successful test. The colors in the sky, clouds and cast on the water are terrific.

Hope you are pleased with the test.
For me, I'm pleased with the beauty of the images!
I like what that lens did stopped down for sun rays.
Angky.

Thank you for your kind comments !

This lens has a poor reputation in the scarse reviews existing about it. People said sharpness was uneven across the frame, that it was prone to flaring, that any other lens with this focal length (zooms) within their range was better performing than this A 45 mm f/2.8 lens.

Well, I had this old lens before I read these disparaging comments and always liked the results I obtained nonetheless. Maybe build quality varies a lot as it was one the very first lenses made for the 645 format.

My copy is very sharp edge-to-edge and very even across the frame. I had not tested it for flaring yet and this test proves the lens has great contrast and excellent resistance to veiling and ghosting. Indeed, I'm very pleased with the results. This focal length is very useful, being the equivalent of a 35 mm lens in FF format. It is small, very light and affords a bright, easy to focus viewfinder image.

Regards
