Nice capture. Great colors in a natural environment. Did you note the tiny insect on one of the spikes on the left side?

An unusual (to me, at least), beautiful flower. Nice job, buddy.

Yup, I spotted that guy through the lens. Speaking of the lens, not too bad results with the Pentax kit lens. Many thanks for your comment.

Beautiful capture, Tony. For the record, it's a bromeliad, Aechmea fasciata.

Yes, you are correct and if my memory serves me right, it is also related to the pineapple genus.

Indeed, yes, pineapples are bromeliads, too. That's the "family", bromeliaceae, pineapples are a different genus (Ananas) in that family.

Interesting that you mentioned the word "Ananas." I have been studying the German language for approximately 12 years now and that is the German word for "Pineapple."

Good job there, young lady. )

Nochmals vielen Dank. Später.

Munich is the Capitol of Bavaria.

Your German is light-years ahead of mine! My pied-a-terre in Bavaria was Regensburg. Visited Munich during that time, of course.
