Autumn colors with some Northern Lights
Lens: Samyang 24mm Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Mazejohka, Finnmark, Norway
Posted By: Fries, 10-10-2021, 04:09 PM

From a trip last month to Northern Norway. I tried fishing the river but that didn't work out. The grayling I caught here in the summer were not available. Only photography remained!

Cheers,

Remco

1. The river Mazejohka.

2. First Northern Lights.

3. Without the tent.

4. With the tent.

5. The next morning it was rather obvious it had been freezing. Minus 3 degrees in the tent.

What gorgeous shots you took on this trip. I would love to see the Northern Lights but live too far south. Maybe someday? For now, I'll enjoy the shots that you have taken. All fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Mike! I live to far south too. Sometimes on our coast we can see a bit of a green glow over the horizon but for real Northern Lights I also have to travel a long way. I have driven more then 5000 kilometers to see this.

"Only photography remained"?
Well, surely did do good on that part!
Sorry about the fishing, but coming back with those images was worth it.

Congratulations for the wonderful shots. I imagine it was cold in the tent! Northern lights are so beautiful, I hope I will go to see them one day or another.

I hope you will get the chance to see them too, thanks! The cold didn't bother me that much in the tent. My sleeping bag is rated until 28 degrees Celsius below zero. Taking photographs was colder and I was forced to use my warmest, but rather ugly hat! I reckon it lowers my IQ with at least 20 points when somebody sees me wearing it.

Thanks for choosing that one! Don't get my wrong. I really like taking photo's off the Northern Lights but I equally value shooting such a beautiful autumn landscape by daylight.
