Not An Abstract--It's Nature On A Cottonwood Log
Lens: Vario_Sonnar T* 28-100 Camera: Sony DSC-RX100 Photo Location: Sacramento Valley ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/80s Aperture: F11

It's not beautiful.
It looks like a confused abstract image.
But it's just what happens to cottonwood trees after their lifetime of living, growing. burning, falling, and just lying there.
Not only is it a home to little critters, but it is-- well, interesting!
Interesting to some; boring to others.
But it's nature in the natural!
Angky.

Not an abstract, that's debatable, but it is created by nature. The curled wood makes an interesting shape inside what appears to be an old wound. Nice capture.

Cool shot. I agree with EM, it looks like it is ready to give birth of some kind of creature.

It looks like there's a carving of a creature there.

I think it was an old wound--where a branch fell off, and then tried to heal before the tree died.
Thanks for noting it.
Angky.

Got to be some kind of magical "extra-terr" in there!
Appreciate your perspective!

That's what's so fun about these shots--a guy can imagine anything and enjoy it!

I sorta thought you might be that kind of photographer. Glad to know you shoot such things too.

That word "interesting" really does fit for both of us, doesn't it?
Thanks for appreciating it.

Right you are! Only it isn't carved by any human!
Strange to look in there and wonder what really did happen when that tree did that.

Coming from one who has spent a lot of time peering through a microscope, it is familiar to what I would call a bad infection. I really like this and very much appreciate your skills and willingness

to share. Very nice work, friend.

Well, thank you, Tony!
I didn't have any idea that it would resemble an ulcerated infection under a microscope, but I can sure see it now that you mention it. In fact, that is not far off the mark (coming from a person who has spent a lot of time looking at trees).
Thanks for your words of appreciation; but I do have to say that I love sharing things that show the fascination we can find in what has been created around us. I only find myself longing for the ability to do a better job of that.
But, what ability God has given, I'm glad for.
Angky.
