Science Project
Lens: DFA 100 2.8 Macro Camera: K5iis Photo Location: Kitchen Sink ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/160s Aperture: F2.8

Still learning the art of Water Droplet photography. Looking to get a "collision" of drops-not there yet. First of all it is not tap water-that does not have enough surface tension and viscosity to get good drops. Used "Thick-It" water rather than make the concoction myself. Used on-camera flash. Next time I will use my Metz flash for comparison

You captured some good splash effects in this photo. Like the reflections of the projections at the bottom of the photo. How much "Thick-It" did you use?

This was in a wide mount 8 oz tumbler-about 2/3 of the glass. The balance -8water & green food coloring Don’t know where you are but CVS sells 42oz bottles

Hi. Do you add the " Thick-It" until you get a certain consistency. I've only used it once when my father had swallowing problems. I know that too much will make it gel too much.

Never used it before today-was room temp & just guessed. Thought it would be easier than mixing xantham gum & water
