A Very Red Corvette
Lens: D FA 28-105 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Angleton, TX ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/180s Aperture: F13.5

To my aging eye, the very early C3 Corvettes have a special beauty with clean, simple lines that manage to be simultaneously voluptuous and svelte. I came across this one at a recent classic car show; mercifully the car appears essentially unmolested and looks pretty much like it did when new. Normally at shows I shoot at f/13 or so to maximize in-focus area when the camera is aimed at front or rear quarters of cars, which generally are parked in such a way that decent side shots are not possible. In this case the car was sufficiently isolated to capture it's silhouette, but I forgot to open the lens up a bit as I should have.

I think that this model looks fantastic no matter which angle you look at. You've captured the evocative side profile very nicely.

Yeah, it's tricky to get clean photos at these shows. At one show I attended a few years ago, they had a second, large field reserved for a small number of cars, thus allowing lots of clear space for photos.

What a beautiful car... Even with many objects in the background, the shot deserves to be shared, the rendition of the red is magnific.

Nice sharp photo of the vette. Corvettes have always had an instantly recognizable style.

It is indeed, buddy. I'm not a Corvette expert, but I'm thinking it is a '68.

I was immediately sure it was '68. Might be wrong though. I do recall that year in vetts very well!

Beautiful '68!
Just that the Stingray script does not belong there. They were Sting Rays from '63-'67 and Stingrays from '69 to '76.

Thanks,
Ismael

Now, I'm 100% sure it's a '68. Now that you mention it, that badging does look a little wonky.
