Sheesh!!!
I've been trying to agree with my wife that I do NOT "need" that Irix 150!
Then you go and post these images!!!!!

Well, I'll rationalize and say that it's due to your skill and not due to the lens!
That might work (for a while longer) to help me remain in good health with my wife.
Wonderful images!!!
I recognize the insect (very clearly!), but not the fuzzy stuff.
Angky.

I have been having second thoughts about my previous post on this thread (copied above).
Seems like it could be taken differently than I intended, and I also think it seems a bit out of character for the social culture of this site.
My intent was nothing other than pure appreciation of the very excellent images; in fact quite the extreme of that--as appreciation! So I used a negative to emphasize a positive (a technique known to linguistics). That is easily misunderstood and probably not appropriate here. My intent was humor (laughing at my own wishes to achieve such excellence).
If my post was understood otherwise, then I offer my sincere apologies!
The actual fact is that I greatly appreciated the posting of those fantastic images--and would be glad to see more of them.
Angky.

Angky, I took your initial comment as nothing less than appreciation. No apologies necessary! Todd

I appreciate the macro images, also. The bees are superb. I'm not familiar with the flowers. Beautiful shots.

Thanks Mike! I initially thought it was blue salvia, but the fuzzy flowers are much different. I will have to do some research. The bees and butterflies really like it.

It was less than two feet, the bees were not disturbed by my intrusion. The Irix 150mm has about a 1 foot minimum focusing distance. I took a lot of shots to get these keepers.

I am pleasantly surprised at how late they hang around here.
