Mike, thank you for the kind comment. The flower that you talk about, the one that looks like child wearing a bonnet, is a species of wild orchid (it should be Orchis purpurea). Yes, the badlands provide a different scenic effect with respect to the rest of the terrain! In other parts of the region they reach more impressive proportions.

The eroded land has a lot of vegetation in its ravines; it must be relatively stable. A stream at the bottom undercutting the land gradually, perhaps?

Many thanks for the kind comment Angky. I'm glad you like the oak and you are right, that shot is quite minimalist. Yes, at the bottom of the eroded terrain there are smoll streams, but it is generally believed that this kind of erosion occurs mainly due to the action of rain. It is stable, but the erosion tend to proceed slowly, year by year.
