for a very tiny bee (??). It is less than half the size of a typical worker bee.

Yes, definitely a native bee. The various families transport pollen differently, some on the legs, others underneath the abdomen. This one uses its legs so it could probably be keyed out to one of a few families.

Very nice image!
Crisp, clear, colorful, and full of detail!
And the fall-off to bokeh is really great to bring a color--just a smooth color--to the background of the bee.
And that bee ain't lazy!
